Artist Statement:
Full of symbolism, interpretation and meaning, the eye can represent vision from a literal sense to the spiritual, tapping into our intuition, looking into the future and beyond. Using my signature combination of paint with hand stitching and beading the fabric, this original artwork exudes colour and texture. Using the eye as a symbol is common in my work, and one that has been used frequently throughout history and different cultures. The eye can be representative of clairvoyance, honesty, a gateway into the soul. It can be confronting to look someone straight into the eye. The eye can also symbolise vision in all its ways - taping into our intuition, seeing into the future and looking beyond.
