For long-time followers of my work they will remember a work of mine titled Not Afraid. This work was a turning point for me where it was when I decided to pursue my own sense of colour and style in producing the work I wanted to make. This artwork went on to win me the Etsy Design Award and was even used in my first collaboration with the iconic Australian fashion label Gorman. 
 
(Still) Not Afraid is made in the same vein. An unapologetic love letter to colour, texture and form. An original artwork that aims to subvert the traditional structure and preconceived notions of craft through an evolution of form and material. However, this work bugged me for a long time - the bottom is not quite straight, and I toyed with the idea of unframing and fixing it. I've now come to realise this imperfection is what makes it - it tells the story of evolution, perseverance and acceptance in a composition of colour, texture and form that would make a great addition art collection. I also hope that it will remind the right collector that can stay true to yourself and you don't have to be perfect - that imperfections can actually be the thing that makes you stand out from the crowd.
